Position Summary: Creates delivery schedules and manages feed delivery/truck drivers to assure that chickens will thrive by delivering the right feed to the right farms & bins in a timely and cost-effective manner. 
 
Feed Scheduling
-       Create and provide feed mill production the daily delivery schedule in a timely manner for Feed Production Team to ensure feed is available for delivery. 
-       Provide daily load sheet with appropriate detail to the Feed Load out employees to ensure proper sequencing of loading.  
-       Arrange deliveries to prove full loads for cost effective hauling. 
-       Delivery of feed should result in fresh feed provided to the chickens. 
-       Pick up left over feed within five days. 
-       Maintain two days of feed on farms. 
 
Feed Delivery
-       Provide accurate detailed delivery instructions for drivers. 
-       Utilize Samsara to provide daily routes. (see Goals) 
-       Monitor drivers on Samsara. 
-       Ensure feed tickets are left at the designated locations at farms/houses. 
-       Monitor/remind drivers to make sure there is no water in the trailers after a rain. 
 
Driver Supervision
-       Speak to driver face-to-face on a daily basis. 
-       Ride with a driver on a delivery run a minimum of once a month. 
-       Ask for feedback from driver for issues at farms (poor roads, etc.) and follow thru with addressing with Production. 
-       Provide safety training on a monthly basis. 
-       Investigate grower complaints and provide feedback. Bring resolution. Enlist Feed Mill Manager & HR as needed. Document. Formal HR write-up as needed. 
-       Investigate TA complaints and provide feedback. Enlist Feed Mill Manager & HR as needed. Document. Formal HR write-up as needed. 
-       Investigate complaints from the public and provide feedback. Bring resolution. Enlist Feed Mill Manager & HR as needed. Document. Formal HR write-up as needed. 
-       Give feedback to drivers from weekly Samsara report. Speeding, etc. 
 
Financial
-       Prepares budgets and monitors costs to stay within budget. 
-       Monitors Agri Stats feed delivery costs and compares to KSC delivery costs. 
 
Communication
-       Over-communicate instructions and changes with everyone involved. 
-       Follow-up to ensure communications are received. 
-       Communicate any delivery issues & changes with Technical Advisors. 
-       Communicate with TAs to ensure accurate farm/house inventories. 
-       Receive grower calls & respond to questions/issues in a timely manner. Alert Technical Advisor.  
-       Physically visit the load out room and batch room at least once a week. 
 
Amino
-       Maintain incoming loads and outgoing feed. 
 
Equipment
-       Inspect trucks and trailers weekly for needed repair and cleanliness. 
-       Ensure DOT regulations are met. 
-       Ensure trucks are adequately maintained by Penske and repairs and upkeep invoiced correctly. 
-       Give feedback to drivers regarding cleanliness and/or abuse of equipment. 
 
Goals
-       Implement Samsara feed delivery system for feed deliveries. 

-       Research and implement best method for planning feed deliveries. (Investigate Amino feed inventory/feed scheduling module.) 

-       Research and implement best method for accurate on farm inventory tracking. 

-       Cross train a backup. 

-       Long term: Education in ingredient and commodity pricing. 

-       Long term: Receive training and hands on experience in all areas of feed milling. 

Skills: 
-       Communication – ability to communicate clearly and effectively. 
-       Management – able to organize and direct oneself and effectively supervise others. 
-       Organized – able to develop and follow systematic methods. 
-       Decision making – ability to make critical decisions within company policy. 
-       Microsoft Word - Adequate ability in word to use for reports and documentation. 
-       Excel – Intermediate skills. Can build spreadsheets, make changes, understands formulas and formatting. Familiar with pivot tables.  
-       Amino – able to perform tasks Amino related to job position. 
 
 
 
 
 
Training 
-       Attend feed mill training seminars and schools as directed by management. 
-       Cross train with QA position. 
 
 
Human Resource: 
-       Prepares driver schedules. 
-       Approves time off requests, coordinating with Feed Miller Manager. 
-       Conducts interviews with Feed Mill Manager of potential new drivers. 
-       Hires new employees as needed completing all new hire documentation. 
-       Receives employee complaints/issues. Documents. Contacts KSC HR as needed. 
-       Reconcile driver pay spreadsheets/EselfServ entries. 
-       Worker’s Compensation documentation/reporting. 
-       Conduct performance reviews. 
-       Bi-weekly payroll administration. 
 
Company Policies
-       Follows company policies including: Employee Handbook, Human Resource, Biosecurity and Safety. Responsible for accurate reporting associated with policies. 
-       Comply with all local, state and federal laws and regulations. 
 
 
Requirements
-       Minimum education – college degree. 
-       Microsoft products as noted in skills section. 
-       One year inventory management experience. 
-       Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders and operate a pallet jack with 2,000 pounds of material.
